Jim Hanlon is a London based artist who paints extraordinarily beautiful contemporary figurative portraits from his idyllic Surrey art studio in Kingston.
Giving his first candid interview, Jim talks to Artist Nest about a strong academic background shaped by a Fine Art degree at Kingston University during the mid eighties, artistic influences from John Singer Sargent and supportive encouraging parents as significant contributory factors that led to a successful professional artist career as a full time figurative portrait painter for more than two decades.
Hanlon’s exquisite figurative paintings are widely commissioned and much sought after by private collectors here in the UK and throughout Europe. He has also taken part in many group and solo exhibitions at several venues including the Mall Galleries in London.
